Bra Care

Q: How should I care for my bras?

A:To prolong the life of your bra, you should hand wash your bra using a delicate detergent (Soak Wash). Lay flat to dry. Never put your bra in a dryer! Finally, store your bra in its natural shape. This means if you have a molded‐cup bra, do not turn the cups inside each other to eliminate damaging the form of the cup.

Q: How long will my bra last?

A:The life span of your bra will vary depending on the quality of the bra, how you care for it, and how often you wear it. A high quality bra made of quality fabrics and laces will prolong the life of a bra. As mentioned above, it is ideal to hand wash your bra. Ideally, you should rotate your bras wearing them not more than one day in a row and washing them after every second wear.

Q: How many bras should I own?

A:The perfect number of bras will depend on each individual woman. On average, four bras is a good recommendation. Two should be the style you wear most often, which can be considered your everyday style of bra. You should always have one black bra. Lastly, a bra for special occasions is also important whether it is a strapless, push up, or something that makes you feel beautiful!

Q: How often should I wash my bra?

A: It is best to hand wash your bra after every other wearing. Hand washing your bra often will prevent body oils and sweat from breaking down the delicate fabrics of your bra prematurely.

How to hand wash your bra:

  1. Fill a sink full of cool water
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of SOAK Lingerie Detergent
  3. Soak your item for 15 minutes
  4. Gently squeeze out water
  5. No need to rinse!
  6. Wash sets or like colors together
  7. Dry flat or hang to dry
Q: Why do my bra straps fall off of my shoulders?

A: What a nuisance! There is nothing worse than having to pull and tug on any part of your outfit throughout the day not to mention your unmentionables. You may know that 80% of women wear the wrong bra size. What you may not know is the most common mistake women make when bra shopping is choosing one that is too big in the band, and too small in the cup.

Bra straps are placed in relation to the size of the band. For example, the straps of a 30D are positioned closer together compared to the straps of a 40D. Slipping straps may be caused by wearing a bra band too big for your body. With that being said, all women are shaped differently, and some women may experience difficulties because their shoulders slope slightly downward. Bra shopping is never easy when faced alone. All brands and styles fit differently, offer solutions for various issues and are suitable for some women and not others.

Q: What is our shipping policy?

A: Bra Necessities is pleased to offer In-Store Pick-Up at Bra Necessities or shipping within Canada through Canada Post. If your item has sold out or there is any other problem with your order, you will be informed within 1-3 business days. Back-ordered items are subject to manufacturer shipping times. We will do our best to estimate when delayed orders will become available.

A: Free Shipping On Purchases Over $300.00 to all Canadian Addresses. 

Free Shipping on Purchases Under $12 to all Canadian Addresses. 

All other purchases have a $21 Shipping Charge.

Bra Necessities ships all online orders via Canada Post. Please note that Overnight Service is Not Available. 

Q: What is our return policy?

A: At Bra Necessities, we understand that finding the perfect bra can take a little trial and error. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, call us at 780-672-2701 to discuss the return.  If you have any questions or concerns about your purchase, Contact Us within 30 Days of Purchase.

Bra Necessities specializes in helping customers find the perfect fit. If you feel your item isn’t quite right, we encourage your to contact us for advice. All returns must have authorization from a Bra Necessities employee before being returned.

Many items are eligible for exchange or store credit. Please see restrictions below. 

The following items are not eligible for exchange or store credit:

  • All items purchased On Sale or at a Discount
  • All items with a gusset (crotch) including women's & men's underwear, lingerie sets that are sold as a set with underwear, bathing suits, swimwear bottoms or swimwear tops and bottoms that are sold as sets
  • Items without the manufacturer tags
  • Visibly worn, washed, soiled or scented items
  • Other Items at Owner's Discretion
Q: How to exchange

A: If you would like to exchange your item for a new style or different size, please call us at 780-672-2701 or email your request to hello@branecessities.net. 

Customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping. They may choose any mail carrier to return their items. Bra Necessities recommends choosing a pre-paid delivery method with tracking and/or confirmation of delivery. Ship the item with original tags attached and sales receipt to:

Sale items and items purchased with a discount or during a promotions or sale are always Final Sale.
